The bike
1983 Yamaha XS650, built as a flat tracker on a custom frame. About $6,500 went into the build. It has 2,500 miles total since new, which is unusually low for a forty-year-old XS — most of that mileage is mine, putting it through its paces around the Hudson Valley.
Mikuni VM34 round-slide pumpers feed it. Pamco electronic ignition replaced the points, so it lights up cold and stays in tune. Carbs were rebuilt, sync'd, and re-jetted last year. Kick or electric start — both work, both feel good.
Gloss black tank, chrome side panels, gold pinstripe. Black tuck-and-roll seat with the flat-tracker tail. Knobby tires on spoked rims. High pipe. Drag bars. The plate and registration are current, title is clean and transferable, no liens.
I'm moving on to a chopper build, otherwise I wouldn't be selling it.
